Windstorm Update:
-Newcastle Primary Care, Fairwood Primary Care, and Newcastle Dermatology are CLOSED today (Friday 11/22). Power was restored this afternoon and these clinics plan to reopen Monday.
-All other clinics, including Maple Valley Urgent Care, are OPEN with appointments proceeding as scheduled.

Collaboration and Trust in the Profession of Pharmacy at VMC

Our innovative approach to pharmacy practice allows the pharmacist to be an integral member of
the patient’s healthcare team with an emphasis on direct patient care related activities promoting optimal clinical outcomes for our patients.

Valley’s team of physicians, nurses and associated providers recognize the contributions of the clinical pharmacists in patient care and utilize services to promote the safe use of medication therapy through an array of collaborative practice agreements providing  pharmacists with prescriptive authority in a variety of both medication therapy management and therapeutic drug monitoring protocols.

 

Residency in Pharmacy Practice (PGY1)

The PGY1 residency at Valley Medical Center is an ASHP-accredited post-graduate program providing twelve months of training in all aspects of advanced pharmacy practice. The goal of the program is to provide each individual with the necessary skills and competencies upon completion of the residency to succeed in a variety of positions including clinical pharmacy specialists, clinical faculty, or continuation of postgraduate training in a PGY-2 program or fellowship.
