A simple act of kindness begins with you! By joining Volunteers in Action, you'll become part of something truly special—a compassionate team that serves as the heart and soul of Valley Medical Center & Clinics. Our volunteers are dedicated to providing comfort, guidance and support to our patients and visitors. Each year, our incredible group of devoted volunteers contribute over 13,000 hours, giving hope and care to our community.

Opportunities for Adults 18+  
Valley Medical Center & Clinics offers a variety of volunteer opportunities across our main campus locations. While we don't currently offer direct patient care roles, our hospitality and support positions help create a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and cared for. Areas and roles include:

Volunteer Requirements & Training
We set you up for success! Our comprehensive orientation and training program ensures you feel confident and prepared in your new role, while introducing you to your surroundings and fellow volunteers. To join our team, we ask that you:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Be a high school graduate
• Commit to serving at least 4 hours per week
• Make a minimum 6-month commitment
• Complete a required background check
• Provide proof of an annual flu shot

Rewards of Volunteering
Volunteering enriches lives—both yours and others. Many of our volunteers discover new friendships, a sense of purpose, and the unique fulfillment that comes from brightening someone's day.

As a token of our appreciation, we offer these benefits:

• A $6 voucher for snacks and refreshments during each shift 
• Special recognition events and activities
• Waived enrollment fee at our fitness center, plus monthly membership discounts

Join Volunteers in Action and discover how a few hours of your time can have a meaningful impact on someone’s life. Whether serving in our new Infusion & Immunotherapy Center, escorting our patients and visitors, or driving our courtesy Shuttle, every interaction counts.

Greatest Need
Our greatest volunteer needs right now are Courtesy Shuttle drivers, helping patients and guests safely get where they need to go on campus, and Wellbeing Support Center volunteers in our new Cancer Center, welcoming and supporting patients and families during their treatment journey.
