On April 22 we had a pipe elbow failure in our Emergency Department (ED) causing a significant water leak. Crews are assessing the impact and we are in the process of water abatement. Our ED is open, but several rooms are currently offline which could increase wait times. Some surgeries are also being rescheduled.
We are proud to offer robotic surgery capabilities as part of Valley Medical Center's full range of elective, urgent and emergency surgery offerings. Nearly 1000 operations are performed at Valley every month, and our main operating suite includes two dedicated robot-assisted surgery suites.
Robotic surgery has advantages similar to laparoscopy, and allows surgeons to operate with increased precision and accuracy while protecting surrounding tissues and organs.
Our surgeons use a sophisticated robotic platform designed for complex, minimally invasive surgeries. This high-tech system features an ergonomic console where the surgeon views high-definition 3D video from a camera inside the patient. From the console, the surgeon controls four interactive robotic arms equipped with precision instruments. Powered by state-of-the-art robotic technology, the system precisely mimics the movements of the surgeons’ hands while also filtering out even the slightest tremors.

Patients can take comfort in knowing that Valley Medical Center has received third-party verification for our exceptional patient care efforts from the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). SRC’s strict evaluation guidelines prioritize patient safety and continuous quality improvement.
Our status as an accredited Center of Excellence means that Valley has met nationally and internationally recognized standards. Not all hospitals and surgeons seek accreditation; not all that undergo the inspection process are granted accreditation. Learn more about our accreditation.
