Providers at Valley Women’s Healthcare clinics provide care in gynecologic health issues for women of all ages. Should surgery or a gynecologic procedure be necessary, our staff includes surgeons experienced in minimally-invasive and robotic surgery approaches for a variety of conditions including:
Minimally invasive surgery uses small incisions or no incisions, and offers faster recovery time and less pain than traditional surgery.
Our surgeons use a sophisticated robotic platform designed for complex, minimally invasive surgeries. Robotic surgery is advanced laparoscopy, where surgeons do not manually move the surgical tools; they use a computer to move the tools and see inside the body with a 3D monitor. This allows for greater precision, smaller cuts, and less healing time. Learn about robotic surgery at Valley.
Procedures include:
Laparoscopy is a surgical procedure used to examine pelvic organs using a thin, lighted tube that has a video camera called a laparoscope. The video images can be seen on a computer screen. Gynecologic laparoscopy may be used to check pelvic pain and problems, ovarian cysts, fibroids, and the fallopian tubes. It can also be used to diagnose and treat endometriosis.
Procedures include:
Hysteroscopy is an exam of the inside of the cervix and uterus using a thin, lighted tube called a hysteroscope, and requires no incisions. This procedure may be used to take a tissue sample (biopsy), remove growths (polyps or fibroids), or prevent bleeding by targeting tissue (ablation) by using an electric current, freezing temperature, heat, or chemicals.
Procedures include:
Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery is a minimally invasive technique where a single incision is made in the vaginal canal, and can be used for removal of the uterus, fallopian tubes, cysts, or ovaries. It is considered the most minimally invasive option for gynecologic surgery, and offers the least pain, fastest recovery, and best cosmetic outcome.
In this DocTalk video, Dr. Valieva and Dr. Schmit address common questions about hysterectomy, what it involves, and how they determine the best approach for each patient.
