FIFA World Cup 2026: Information for Patients and Visitors

 

Seattle will host several FIFA World Cup matches between June 15 and July 6, bringing increased travel, traffic, and activity throughout the region.

Valley Medical Center remains open and fully operational during the tournament. Patients and visitors should plan for heavier traffic and additional travel time, particularly on match days and during large public events.

Valley is working closely with regional healthcare and emergency management partners to support safe, coordinated care throughout the tournament period.

Receiving Care at Valley

Valley's Emergency Department & Level III Trauma Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to care for you and your family's urgent and emergency needs. Our Urgent Care clinics in Covington and Maple Valley are open 8 AM - 8 PM, Monday through Friday, and 8 AM - 4 PM on weekends. 

For emergencies needing police, fire, or medical help, CALL 911. It is free to call 911.

Our Level III Trauma Center serves south King county. We are a moderate to high volume facility caring for a variety of injured trauma patients. This includes emergency, acute care surgery, and specialty surgery services with an operating room available 24/7.

As one of the busiest Level III trauma centers in the region, Valley provides exceptional care for injured patients and works closely with Harborview; the local Level I Trauma Hospital. We offer:

  • 24-hour immediate coverage by emergency medicine, acute care surgeons, laboratory,
    radiology, critical care services, operating rooms, and anesthesiology. 
  • Other specialties include orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, and OB/GYN 
  • Trauma prevention programs and continuing education programs for staff and the community. 
  • Injury prevention efforts with an active outreach program.
  • On site blood bank
  • Helipad

Valley has two Urgent Care clinics, located in Covington and Maple Valley. We also offer Urgent Care telehealth Monday through Thursday, 8 AM - 12 PM.

Please call 911 or go to the closest emergency room if you are experiencing the following symptoms:

- Stroke: Sudden dizziness numbness or paralysis, difficulty seeing or speaking, or loss of consciousness

- Severe abdominal pain

- Seizure

- Heart Attack: Chest pain with pressure sensation or pain radiating into jaw, teeth, shoulder or back; or palpitations with dizziness; or shortness of breath, sweating and/or nausea or vomiting

Valley offers plenty of convenient, free parking. We have a large, sprawling campus, so please allow extra time to find campus, park and reach your destination. If you need navigation assistance, call the Main Information desk at 425.690.4560: Valley’s free, on-campus, volunteer-operated, shuttle service is available weekdays, 8 AM – 4 PM.

Valley Medical Center provides interpreter services for our patients free of charge. Part of the patient registration process includes finding out what a patient's primary language is, as well as their preferred language for speaking with their provider. If there is a language barrier present and they prefer an interpreter, we will provide one. Most of Valley's interpreter services are offered remotely through video and services can be provided in hundreds of languages. Because the services take place over video, it is easier for the patient, interpreter and provider to all make sure everyone is understanding each other. 

If you feel an interpreter is needed, please ask your care team and we will make sure one has been requested for you.
