Provider Bio

Dr. Lawrence Parawan is a board-eligible acute care general surgeon providing patient-centered care for those experiencing emergency surgical conditions and traumatic injuries. Dr. Parawan has a strong interest in minimally invasive and robotic assisted surgery.

Dr. Parawan is from rural Tennessee where he centered his educational focus on providing care for underserved populations in Memphis and the Appalachian Highlands. He obtained his medical degree from East Tennessee State University. Dr. Parawan completed his general surgery residency at the University of Arizona Phoenix campus, training in both the Phoenix metro area and in the Alaskan Native Health system. Outside of work, Dr. Parawan enjoys traveling and exploring the food and scenery of the Pacific Northwest with his dog.

Dr. Parawan is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care both inside and outside the operating room. He strongly values open communication, mutual understanding, and shared decision-making among his patients, their loved ones, and the members of their care team.
