Provider Bio

Dr. Kaufman is a general and acute care surgeon with interest in providing excellent care for the treatment of urgent or emergent surgical issues for his patients. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and a long-standing elected member of the American College of Surgeons. After finishing the general surgery residency at University of Washington in 2004, Dr. Kaufman completed fellowship training in advanced minimally-invasive surgery from University of Washington Center for Videoendoscopic Surgery including esophageal, anti-reflux, bariatric, colon and solid organ surgery. He spent an additional year working with mentors on advanced pancreatic and gastrointestinal surgery and hernia repair techniques.

Dr. Kaufman grew up in Minnesota but now considers the Pacific Northwest his home. He went to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated with a BA in Political Science. He enjoys fly-fishing, trail running, snow sports and raising his three teenagers.
