Provider Bio

Mara Barrios, PA-C, is a gynecologic oncology physician assistant. She has a genuine passion for women’s health but has the greatest interest in treating women with cancerous or precancerous conditions of the female reproductive system. Mara sees patients in clinic but also acts as a surgical assistant to the oncologists in the operating room. Additionally, she has experience performing outpatient gynecologic procedures such as colposcopies and endometrial biopsies.

Mara obtained a Bachelor of Science in psychology at Florida State University in Tallahassee. She earned a master’s in clinical medical science and physician assistant certificate through Barry University Physician Assistant Program in Miami, Florida. Because of her interest in women’s health, she completed postgraduate training in the obstetrics and gynecology physician assistant fellowship at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Southern California. She worked close to three years in obstetrics/gynecology before joining the gynecologic oncology practice at Valley Medical Center.

Mara is a native of Miami, Florida. She is a first-generation Hispanic American and is pleased when she is able to efficiently communicate with her Spanish-speaking patients. On her free time, Mara enjoys traveling, discovering new cuisines, hiking, practicing yoga, pottery, and spending time with her significant other, and her dog and cat. She adores living in the Seattle area, and appreciates the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
