Ariel Brantley-Dalglish, CNM, ARNP finds her work as a midwife most rewarding when she can meet people where they are and partner with them in an open and inclusive way to collaboratively define health goals. She is board-certified as a certified nurse midwife and offers full spectrum sexual and reproductive health care services to people assigned female at birth, from their first menstrual cycle to their last and everything in between. She believes that people have the right to make informed choices about what is best for their bodies and families, and enjoys providing resources, education and evidence-based guidance to aid shared decision making. Her care is trauma sensitive and works with the knowledge that relationships move at the speed of trust. She works closely with clients to understand their health history, concerns and goals for maximizing their own health. She has a particular interest and experience helping clients regulate and understand their menstrual cycles and serving clients who are navigating mental health challenges at any stage of their sexual/reproductive lives.
Ariel grew up in New Haven, CT. After witnessing her first home birth at age 7, she knew she had a calling to be a midwife. After high school, she went on to pursue several internships on the west coast, exploring Whole Foods nutrition, Ayurvedic, Chinese and herbal medicine. She graduated from Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA with her first bachelor’s degree in public health. After years of working in health care advocacy and moonlighting as a doula, Ariel finally went on to pursue her dream and graduated from Oregon Health Science University in 2016 with a master’s degree in nurse- midwifery. Ariel has experience in a variety of settings including low intervention birth centers and large urban labor and delivery units. She is currently enrolled in a second master’s degree from Frontier University’s program in psychiatric nursing so that she can better meet the perinatal mental health needs of her clients. She is trained in mindfulness-based childbirth education and is a certified yoga teacher. Her latest piece of paper is a certification as an American Sailing certified sailor. In her free time, she can be found in the water, swimming or sailing, up in the mountains, backpacking, enjoying her garden and sharing time with a robust group of friends and family.
