Bloodworks Northwest Policy Change

Please review the letter below from Bloodworks Northwest (BWNW) regarding a change in policy related to issuing RhD-positive platelets to RhD-negative patients.

For RhD-negative male patients over age 18 and female patients over age 50, when BWNW issues RhD-positive platelets because RhD-negative platelets are not available, a phone call to the VMCC Provider to accept the substitution will no longer be required.
