LabCorp & InCyte partnership

Labcorp has entered into a strategic relationship with Incyte Diagnostics to acquire select assets of their anatomic pathology (AP) and clinical pathology (CP) businesses. Incyte will continue providing professional services—such as interpreting tissue samples—while Labcorp will take on the technical testing side.

What This Means for You
For clinicians, your workflow will remain largely the same. You will continue receiving anatomic pathology reports as a single, unified document that combines both the technical and professional components. Patients will continue using the same lab locations, and there are no immediate changes to ordering, turnaround times, or contacts during the transition.

Beginning this month (pending completion of IT builds), Labcorp will begin performing PAPs, CT/GC, and other molecular tests that previously went to Incyte. Later in the year, Labcorp will also take over making pathology slides and performing IHC staining, which Incyte pathologists will then use for their professional reads.

Looking Ahead
At the end of the day, you’ll still receive results just as you do now—only coming from different labs: Cytogenetics/Molecular from Labcorp and Pathology from Incyte. The partnership is expected to be finalized later this year. We will continue to follow updates and share any workflow changes that may come up.
