On April 22 we had a pipe elbow failure in our Emergency Department (ED) causing a significant water leak. Crews are assessing the impact and we are in the process of water abatement. Our ED is open, but several rooms are currently offline which could increase wait times. Some surgeries are also being rescheduled.

Hearing Aid Services Discontinued

3/10/2025

The Ear, Nose & Throat clinic is sunsetting the hearing aid service due to the administrative work involved, competing business, insurance coverage, and limited audiology staffing. NOTE: The clinic will continue to provide medical audiology services.

  • Patients with an existing hearing aid contract will be seen and served for this next year.
  • Other patients who have expired service agreements will be provided with a local retailer that has a relationship with the patients specific hearing aid manufacturer.
  • Letters were sent to patients via mail and MyChart.

Here are more details about how the ENT clinic is handling patients:

  • They stopped booking new hearing aid evaluations as of February.
  • They are working through hearing aid fittings that were scheduled prior to the closure decision.
  • Patients who have already purchased hearing aids:
    • Purchased within the last 12 months:
      • They still have an active service agreement with us. We will continue providing hearing aid services as outlined in their agreement until it ends.
    • Purchased between 12 and 36 months ago:
      • Their service agreement has expired, but their hearing aids may still be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty for repairs. Although repairs may be covered, service appointments might have associated costs.
    • Purchased over 36 months ago:
      • Their hearing aids are no longer under warranty for repairs or services.
