It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Dr. Gregory Morlin. Greg started working at Valley in October 2017 and was an integral part of our Infectious Diseases program. He was a deeply compassionate, highly intelligent and very dedicated physician. He was a patient favorite and beloved by everyone he cared for.
Greg often went above and beyond for his patients to make sure they received the best care working with centers such as National Jewish Health in Denver or the NIH in Maryland to get the follow-up needed. Greg was instrumental in the creation of the Viral Disease program in the infectious diseases department here at Valley to provide the best care for our Hepatitis C and HIV patients, among others. He had already set up a similar program for public health in Snohomish County so he had an impact on population health as well as the wellbeing of his own patients.
Greg was a dedicated family man, a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews, and a solid support for his aging parents. Among his many family projects, he sponsored an annual summer trip here for his whole family to visit and have a good time together. Greg was also a great sportsman enjoying sailing, fishing, and team sports. He often called the soccer pitch his happy place.
We will miss Greg and extend our sincere sympathy to his family and close friends.
