The Desimone Levee on the Green River failed and is under repair. The hospital is above the flood zone and currently in no danger of flooding. We evacuated our Time Square and Kent Station Clinics and our Lind Avenue locations. Several locations are experiencing staffing issues due to severe traffic impacts. Impacted patients are being contacted to reschedule appointments. Please be safe, do not drive or walk through standing water, and call 9-1-1 if you need emergency evacuation assistance.

The referral guidelines for the Diabetes, Thyroid, & Endocrine Clinic have been updated and the respective page from the Referral Guide is below. 

The recent change reflects that they have discontinued doing biopsies for thyroid and parathyroid nodules, as described in the Advance work up section.

Thyroid disorders: Diagnosis and treatment of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer. 

Calcium disorders and metabolic bone disease: Diagnosis and treatment of hypocalcemia and hypercalcemia, vitamin D disorders, hypo- and hyperparathyroidism, osteoporosis. 

Adrenal and pituitary disorders: Evaluation and treatment of various adrenal and pituitary disorders: adenomas and masses, diagnosis, and treatment of hypo- and hyperfunction levels related to endocrine tumors. 

Other endocrine disorders: Cholesterol and lipid disorders, gonadal axis disorders, pharmacological obesity management.

Transgender care: Gender affirming hormone therapy.

 Services/interventions: Continuous glucose monitoring

 

Advance work up: Thyroid and parathyroid nodules: If a nodule meets criteria for biopsy based on the ultrasound report, please order the biopsy at Valley Medical Center (ENT, General & Specialty Surgery, or Interventional Radiology) along with the referral.

 

Minimum patient age: 18
