On April 22 we had a pipe elbow failure in our Emergency Department (ED) causing a significant water leak. Crews are assessing the impact and we are in the process of water abatement. Our ED is open, but several rooms are currently offline which could increase wait times. Some surgeries are also being rescheduled.
We're excited to introduce changes to our communications to physicians and advanced practice practitioners. With input from many of you, we’re implementing some changes:
• Reduced email volume to decrease the number of emails you receive
• Targeted messaging to specific specialty groups or departments when applicable, eliminating inapplicable mass emails
• Differentiating urgent emails to quickly identify announcements requiring immediate attention
This month, you'll notice the first major change: the transformation of STAT News into the Clinician Newsletter. The new name reflects the content to be timely, yet non-urgent updates. Also, you can expect to see a monthly message from clinician leadership in each issue, starting with this one.
There are some other changes, including other types of email messages you’ll now see in your inbox. Most importantly will be a Clinician Alert email to highlight information that we feel is time sensitive and critical. The Medical Staff office will continue to send pertinent information related to medical staff business, under the new header Medical Staff Updates. The three most common email categories are described below.
