COVID Vaccine for Children in Primary Care Clinics

Author: Kris Nakanishi, Primary Care Director

The CDC Vaccine for Children Program (VFC) has made some changes; since COVID vaccine is now considered a "routine" vaccine for all ages, our alternate protocol we had in place (carrying at VFM and Covington only) for non-routine vaccines does not apply any longer.  The requirement is for all VFC-enrolled providers to offer all recommended routine vaccines which includes the COVID vaccine at all primary care clinics that participate in the VFC program.

All Primary Care Clinics began carrying Moderna pediatric COVID vaccine, (for patients 6 months – 18 years), as of Feb. 12.  No adult COVID vaccine will be carried.
