On April 22 we had a pipe elbow failure in our Emergency Department (ED) causing a significant water leak. Crews are assessing the impact and we are in the process of water abatement. Our ED is open, but several rooms are currently offline which could increase wait times. Some surgeries are also being rescheduled.

The Courage of Vulnerability: Building Fluency in the Equity Journey

10/13/2023

For those of you that were not able to attend this presentation for all VMC staff on Sep. 22 (or just want to see it again!) "The Courage of Vulnerability, Building Fluency in the Equity Journey," is now available to watch on your own time.

Ben Danielson, MD, is a renowned Seattle-area pediatrician and community advocate. Ben coined the term "taking an Equity Pause," a concept which we have adopted at Valley to ensure equity is foundational to the work we do as an organization.

We cannot thank Dr. Danielson enough for this heartfelt, valuable, and interactive conversation. Hear Ben speak about why equity is important when caring for our community like family, and the impact that a pro-equity mindset and behaviors can have in strengthening our relationship with staff, patients, and our community.

What you'll learn:

  • Develop a shared grounding in equity work to serve as building blocks for our continued journey.
  • Cultivate deep reflective practices and courageous vulnerability to help propel us forward.
  • Explore how our understanding of our community drives organizational transformation.
