Greg Morlin, MD, Infectious Disease Clinic | Provider of the Month - September 2021

Congratulations to Gregory Morlin, MD, a provider in Valley’s Infectious Disease Clinic and our September 2021 Provider of the Month. Several comments were submitted about Dr. Morlin, and below we are featuring the comments from Infectious Disease Medical Director, Mike Hori, MD to showcase why he was chosen for this award:

Greg Morlin has been with us for four years and in that time has worked hard to expand our infectious diseases program with a center of excellence for management of viral hepatitis particularly hepatitis C; enhanced educational opportunities in infectious disease for our family practice residents; and working on research projects in the infectious diseases field. He has also taken on the burden of ambulatory management of our COVID patients by leading the nurse case management team who interacts with these patients. Finally, he has taken on the lion's share of our ambulatory infectious diseases service in clinic. Despite all this, Greg remains a caring physician and colleague who is VERY WELL liked by his patients and is always willing to help out with the unexpected day-to-day issues of the infectious diseases section. I feel very lucky to have Dr. Morlin at Valley and not sure what I would do without his calm and competent presence."

Valerie Mazziotti, PA-C, Lake Sawyer Primary Care | Provider of the Month - October 2021

Congratulations to Valerie Mazziotti, PA-C from Valley's Lake Sawyer Primary Care Clinic and our October 2021 Provider of the Month! In addition to sending along many happy patient comments, here is what her nominator wrote:

Valerie is smart, compassionate and a great advocate for both patients and staff. She is committed to making patient care the best it can be. Her ability to listen and build strong, trusting relationships is improving patient care at Valley and contributes to a strong patient following. Above all that she is passionate, kind, genuine and just fun to be around!

Tacie Reger, ARNP, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit | March of Dimes Heroes in Action Award

Congratulations to Tacie Reger, ARNP in the NICU and Recipient of the March of Dimes Heroes in Action Award! Here is what her nomination said:

Tacie Reger is the most outstanding APP I have worked with. She is the ultimate patient advocate. She is clinically one of the most talented clinicians in our group. She is meticulous with her care, decisions, and procedure skills. Therefore, her clinical skills are her greatest qualification. Not only clinically, but Tacie is an excellent leader. She inspires our team to do better. She never fails to join and lead special working groups. She is kind and thoughtful. She is adored by all staff. She truly sees our potential to improve and do our best and this translates into better patient care and teamwork. I cannot think of a provider that single handedly improves the care we provide to so many fragile infants.

ARNP Reger has truly inspired the vision of nursing and care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit through her role as an educator and through her work with quality improvement. She gives multiple presentations and lectures to different groups of nurses and providers. She does this voluntarily without any compensation. She is also an educator for new nursing students, residents, PA fellows, and NNP students. She is a sought after preceptor that receives rave reviews. She has also enhanced the education of the EMS providers in our area through different educational platforms. She leads our division in different quality improvement projects that will improve our standard of care. Tacie Reger deserves to be recognized for her contribution to the field of Neonatology and our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
