Anyone who has been to the second-floor imaging area or has had to transport patients through the loading dock to the Oly Building know just how badly renovation and enhancements are needed. Patients deserve a comforting and healing environment that offers modern equipment and amenities . . . and they are about to get it! Over the next few weeks in the second-floor space adjacent to the SPCU, our brand new Nuclear Medicine, MRI and Procedural CT Scan suites will go live on a staggered schedule.
We invite all staff to come take a sneak peek on Friday, August 13, anytime between 7 AM - 2 PM. Check out the beautiful, new space and the greatly improved pathway for patient transport. See below for the map to access this new space.
This is all part of a multi-phase diagnostic imaging strategic plan to improve care for our patients. SPCU, 3 cath labs and a hybrid OR were part of the earlier phasing and an additional cath lab, new C-Arm Room and Radiology Support Area is slated for 2022. Together, these upgrades will give us more advanced imaging capabilities, in-hospital MRI, greater capacity for emergent procedures and allow us to care for multiple emergencies at the same time. In addition, this modern equipment will equal faster studies, less radiation and improved efficiency for our staff.
