On April 22 we had a pipe elbow failure in our Emergency Department (ED) causing a significant water leak. Crews are assessing the impact and we are in the process of water abatement. Our ED is open, but several rooms are currently offline which could increase wait times. Some surgeries are also being rescheduled.

Lab Medicine Reference Range Changes

Clinical Laboratory Services is updating their chemistry analyzers to the Siemens Atellica System. A full validation has been performed and all analytes have been fully tested. A few analytes demonstrate a slight difference in reference ranges.

Troponin analysis has a more significant change. We will now be performing a High-Sensitivity assay. Results will be reported in ng/mL (rather than ng/L).
