As we move into flu season, we are encouraging all patients six months and older to get the flu vaccine. The flu vaccine prevents millions of illnesses and flu related doctor’s visits each year. According to the CDC, the flu vaccine prevented 3.2 million influenza-associated medical visits, 91,000 influenzas-associated hospitalizations, and 5,700 influenza-related deaths during the 2017-2018 flu season.
