The UW Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences recently launched a new service to help prescribing providers in Washington receive clinic advice for adults (18+) with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
Providers can call 877.WA.PSYCH (877.927.7924) and after a short intake with a health navigator, they are connected to a UW Medicine psychiatrist. After the consultation, the psychiatrist sends written documentation of the recommendations to the caller via e-mail. The service is free to the caller. The consultation line is staffed Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. Beginning July 1, 2020 it will be staffed 24/7. There is no limit to how many times a provider can call. An online FAQ page has additional details.
Please note that this is only a phone consult service. The Psychiatry and Counseling Clinic at Valley Medical Center continues to accept patients in Renton. The intake line is 425.690.3414 .
