New Ambulatory Care Pathway: Chronic Opioid Care

The Chronic Opioid Care Pathway was updated to ensure compliance with the new Washington State law that went into effect in January 2019. The updated recommendations include:

Use of PEG questionnaire for pain and functional assessment

Use of Opioid Risk Tool (ORT) for determining risk of opioid abuse

Risk stratification approach

Follow-up frequency

Tapering strategy
