    Joseph Chang, MD, was raised in Southern California and later moved to Seattle, where he attended the University of Washington and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Prior to his medical training, he enlisted and proudly served in the United States Army as a combat medic and was honorably discharged in 2000.

    In 2005, Dr. Chang graduated from Boston University with both his medical degree as well as a master's degree in Public Health. He completed his medical residency and fellowship at the prestigious Mayo Clinic, where he also remained for his fellowship training in Gastroenterology.

    His clinical interests include all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology, including irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, inflammatory bowel disease and liver diseases.

    Dr. Chang is excited about returning to this area. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, running and exploring the outdoors with his wife.

    Dr. Di Re was raised in Tacoma, Washington. He attended Loyola Medical School in Chicago, followed by his internal medicine residency at Northwestern University. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship in June, 2003 at the University of Washington.

    Dr. Di Re is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He brings to our clinic interest and training in all areas of gastroenterology with an emphasis on motility, biliary and pancreatic disease.

    Biography

    Dr. William Pearce is a native of Seattle. He received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Washington, where he also earned varsity letters in and coached intercollegiate crew.

    He continued graduate study at the UW to include a MSPH and a PhD in Immunochemistry. His dissertation included the first development of a vaccine for Neisseria gonnorrhoeae. In 1984 he graduated as valedictorian from George Washington University School of Medicine and entered the Army. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center, where he remained as Chief Medical Resident and staff until 1989.

    Dr. Pearce completed his fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, afterward returning to Madigan for two years as a staff gastroenterologist. He is board-eligible in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is a Clinical Associate Professor at the UW. Dr. Pearce has extensive experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. He joined Southlake Clinic in 1993.

    Dr. Pearce and his wife enjoy spending time with their grandson, gardening and golfing. He has been listed in "America's Best Doctors" and "Seattle's Best Doctors."

He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA and fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Buffalo. He has additional specialty training in Hepatology & Liver Transplantation as well as Advanced Therapeutic & Interventional Endoscopy, and graduated with a Masters degree in Public Health.

    Dr. Yen joined Southlake Clinic in 2014 after serving many years as faculty at the University of Colorado, Denver School of Medicine, where he specialized in advanced endoscopy and worked on outcomes research. Some of his previous research focused on colon polyp detection, GI cancer diagnosis and survival, liver transplant survival, and advanced endoscopy techniques.

    He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His clinical interests include all areas of gastroenterology, including irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, liver diseases, GI cancer staging/diagnosis, colon cancer screening, pancreaticobiliary disease, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy procedures
