RENTON, WA - Valley Medical Center (VMC) is proud to announce it has been chosen by publication, Becker’s Hospital Review, as one of ‘60 Hospitals with Great Orthopedic Programs’ – one of only two hospitals in Washington state. The 60 hospitals were chosen for exhibiting excellence in orthopedics and quality of service, having outstanding local and national reputations and for high volumes of annual orthopedic cases.
The Joint & Spine Center at Valley Medical Center was noted by Becker’s as incorporating computer-assisted surgery technology for more precise placement of implants during joint replacement procedures, and for having performed more than 5,000 joint replacements over the past decade. Becker’s also noted VMC’s Spine Center as “focused on providing successful outcomes for patients,” noting that more than 85 percent of spine surgery patients are able to return home within a week of surgery.
The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team publicly solicited recommendations and every institution included in the list underwent substantial review. In addition to Valley Medical Center, UW Medical Center was included.
“We have long been proud of our Joint & Spine Center which is ranked number one for joint replacement, and for overall orthopedic services and spine surgery in Washington state by HealthGrades,” said Rich Roodman, Valley Medical Center CEO. “Being recognized nationally as one of only two “great orthopedic programs” in our state, along with UW Medicine, is truly an honor.”
