Our campus is east of Hwy 167 at the intersection of S. 43rd Str and Talbot Rd S. Parking is free. Park in the North Parking lot and take the skybridge on the 3rd floor to the MAC building. Take the elevator to the first floor and follow the corridor to the right to the end of the hall to the auditorium.

      2013 Labor And Birth Thursday 6-Week Series

      UW Medicine - Valley Medical Center Thursday 6-week series will cover the information that all first-time parents need to start their life with baby!! We will be covering basic baby care, baby behaviors, newborn feeding, labor and birthing processes, basic comfort techniques, postpartum care for the new family, and a tour of the LDRP room. Space is limited so please sign up early! Be sure to plan your classes to finish about 6 to 8 weeks before your due date. If taking the 6 week series, be sure to start your classes between 25 and 27 weeks of pregnancy. Payment is due at time of registration. Accepted forms of payment are: Check or Money Order (payable to: UW Medicine - Valley Medical Center), Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card or a current copy of a DSHS Card (Front and Back) attached to the registration form. Craig Arntz, Traci Barthel, John Howlett, and Niket Shrivastava, will explain treatments for conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder, including carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff injuries, trigger finger, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis relating to the joints in the fingers, wrists and arms.

It covers essential information about pregnancy, what to expect during labor and birth (including how you’ll know labor is beginning, when you will go to the hospital, and how you’ll know it’s time to push), natural techniques for coping with labor pain (breathing, relaxation, massage, etc.), pain medication, hospital routines and medical procedures, and a brief introduction to breastfeeding and newborn care. This class will cover labor, birth, a brief overview of basic comfort and breathing techniques, post partum care, caesarean sections, medications, and more. Space is limited so please sign up early. Cost is $95 per couple for the 1-Day Classes. This class price includes: 1) Mom and one support person. You are welcome to bring food, snacks, and beverages with you to class (no food or beverages are provided for the weekend class, so please plan ahead). Payment is due at time of registration.
